Our material promise

A grass that performs like hardwood.

Bamboo grows up to a metre a day and is ready to harvest within 3 to 5 years — twenty times faster than tropical hardwood. By laminating the strips under high pressure, a continuous, solid panel is created that is technically in the same class as oak and iroko: dense, hard, dimensionally stable and without filler or plastic core.

Every panel is unique. The fibre structure of the bamboo stalk is clearly visible in the surface — and even more explicitly in the side view and the end grain. No two panels are ever identical; the natural variation is part of the character.

Plantation to project — our bamboo comes from an FSC®-certified production chain with an EPD according to EN 15804+A2 and a CO₂-neutral production flow.

The Panels

A1 · What is a solid bamboo panel?

A solid bamboo panel is built up from thin, glued strips of pure bamboo — no MDF core, no OSB filler, no veneer layer over a wood-based base. The entire panel consists of bamboo, laminated in 3 or 5 layers into a continuous, robust material that can be worked much like solid hardwood.

For applications where the panel is milled, planed or machined — worktops, stair treads, table edges — only a solid panel is suitable. A composite would expose the wood-based core during such machining.

A2 · 3-ply or 5-ply

The number of layers is tied to the panel thickness. Up to and including 30 mm we use a 3-ply build-up — sufficiently stable for worktops and standard interiors. From 40 mm, production allows 5-ply for maximum dimensional stability.

Rule of thumb: 3-ply for decorative and functional panels up to 30 mm · 5-ply from 40 mm for heavily loaded or bar tops · bamboo veneer (0,6 mm) for finishing existing panels.

A3 · Plain pressed or Side pressed

The pressing direction determines the visual pattern as well as the visible hardness. Plain pressed shows wide, flowing strips. Side pressed sets the bamboo strips on their edge and gives a fine, dense play of lines with visible nodes — the characteristic bamboo look.

A3b · Unique bamboo pattern

The characteristic pattern of solid bamboo panels only truly becomes visible in the end grain (end face) and in the side view of the panel. Both patterns arise naturally from the fibre structure of bamboo — no two panels are identical.

A4 · Colour — Licht caramel

Our standard product line is supplied in Licht caramel — a warm, honey-brown tone created by thermal treatment of the bamboo strips before lamination. No paint, no pigment — the colour runs through the entire material and therefore does not wear off with use or sanding.

💡 Tip: Because the colour is created thermally (no surface pigment), a sanded or machined surface retains its tone. With hardwood panels a lighter layer often appears after sanding — not with bamboo.

Under EN 17009:2019 cupping, spring and bowing are extremely low — respectively 0.1%, 0.01% and 0.01%. In practice: a laminated 2440 × 1220 mm panel stays within these tolerances even with temperature and moisture fluctuations.

C1 · Where solid panels belong

Solid bamboo panels are the first choice where the surface is machined — milled, chamfered, inlaid — or where the edge stays visible (stair treads, bar tops, kitchen worktops). The technical sheet sums it up: "particularly suited for scenarios where the edge remains visible".

D4 · Frequently asked questions

Composite panels have a wood-based (MDF or OSB) core with a thin bamboo veneer layer on both sides. Solid panels are continuous bamboo — suitable for machining, milling and visible edges. Composite is more budget-friendly; solid is technically superior for machined surfaces.
MP = Massive Panel · SP/PP = Side / Plain pressed · 20 = thickness in mm · 3L = number of layers · LC = Licht Caramel (the standard colour). The 0,6 mm veneer has a separate coding based on the size (MP-BF-2500-1250-0.6).
Yes. Just like hardwood — use a fine-toothed carbide saw for clean edges. For production series we supply the panels cut to size directly (from 20 panels).
For dry spaces: two-component parquet oil. For kitchen worktops: a water-resistant PU lacquer. We supply both finishes on request — request our technical sheet.
Our panels are tested under EN 14342 and achieve class Dfl-s1 — suitable for floor applications in standard interior projects. For public spaces with stricter requirements an additional treatment is available.
Our focus is on the EU. For projects in the UK, Norway or Switzerland delivery is possible — request a personal quotation.
