Moso (Phyllostachys edulis) is the largest temperate bamboo species in the world — the classic thick, straight pole used in construction and landscaping across Asia for centuries. We grow and process Moso in Europe, through our own nurseries in Portugal and a network of partner growers.
For projects, that means a short supply chain, full traceability and a far lower transport footprint than imported poles — with the same natural strength, warm colour and character.
Alongside Moso bamboo we also supply EU Naturel bamboo poles. Naturel poles are defined by their natural look: every pole is unique. The natural colour variation and the unwashed surface give them a character of their own, and irregular curvature and differences in structure make them a creative, decorative element. They are popular for events, design projects, landscaping and decoration among other things.

Bamboo poles are a versatile, renewable material for a wide range of building and structural applications. High strength, flexibility, low self-weight and a natural appearance together make bamboo interesting for functional and architectural structures alike.
Depending on species, diameter, grade, moisture content and treatment, bamboo poles are used in houses, sheds, verandas, canopies, pergolas, bridges, facade and wall structures and a range of load-bearing and supporting structures.
Natural lengths and a round section give architects and designers a great deal of freedom in form. Bamboo poles can be used on their own or in combination with other materials.
For professional use, material choice, detailing, connections, treatment and structural dimensioning determine whether bamboo suits a given design. That makes it an interesting alternative or addition to traditional materials such as timber and steel.
Bamboo gives architects, contractors and structural engineers a broadly applicable material for innovative, light and naturally shaped structures.
For assessing environmental performance, the available EPDs and the data held in the Dutch Nationale Milieudatabase (NMD) are the relevant sources. For European Moso bamboo they give architects, engineers and structural designers a basis for environmental calculations and sustainable material choices.
A full Environmental Product Declaration to EN 15804 has been produced for our European bamboo poles. The LCA was carried out by Agrodome B.V. and independently verified — usable for whole-building assessments and tenders.

European bamboo is a natural product. Expect colour variation between poles, discolouration of the pole, a natural taper and curve from base to top, and the occasional fine vertical crack — characteristic of solid bamboo and without effect on structural strength. That is what gives the poles their appreciated character.
