Certifications for bamboo building materials

® FSC Chain of Custody

The FSC ® Chain of Custody makes the origin of the material traceable within the certified chain. BambooConstruct mentions FSC ® certification with certificate number C146859 for decking and façade cladding, among other things.

CE marking

The CE marking indicates that the construction products in question meet the applicable European conformity requirements. On the certification page, the CE conformity is linked to CPR 305/2011.

EN 350 – durability class

For various outdoor products, EN 350, durability class 1, is listed. This classification relates to the natural durability of the material against biological attack, among other things. Actual suitability will vary depending on product, detailing, application and exposure.

EN 1995 – Eurocode 5

EN 1995, Eurocode 5, is the relevant structural standard for timber construction. BambooConstruct mentions this standard for construction beams and certain structural applications. EN 13501-1 – Fire classification

For selected bamboo products, a fire class B-s1,d0 is stated according to EN 13501-1. This classification includes fire contribution, smoke development and burning droplets. The applicability must be checked per product and project.

ISO 14001

EPD and LCA
